Slow cosmetics for your skin.

Night facial oil.

French cosmetic specialists are now supporting the use of oil for hydrating and curing the facial skin. “Slow cosmetics” is now the new trend in Europe: it uses only all natural products, avoids pro-inflammatory and allergenic synthetic products, uses all the beneficial plant-based juices from nature, for keeping a healthy skin, hair and home.

Based on their teachings I was inspired to produce a whole natural night facial oil for keeping the skin well-nourished and prevent ageing. It contains:

Jojoba oil: anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and non-toxic, vitamin E, B-complex, copper, zinc, selenium, iodine, and chromium, essential fatty acids. It closely resembles sebum, deeply moisturizing, reduces skin

oiliness.

Wheat germ oil: antioxidant, anti-aging, preserves the texture of your skin, protects skin from damage, readily absorbed, thus an effective moisturizer and an appropriate topical treatment. When applied to skin, wheat-germ oil delivers an infusion of vitamin A, vitamin D, B vitamins, antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids, iron and calcium. These nutrients not only moisturize and heal dry or cracked skin, they also help prevent scarring. Wheat-germ oil is particularly rich in vitamin E, which helps reduce skin damage, fight free radicals, supports healthy collagen formation and maintains skin tone.

Apricot kernel oil: with a lipid content similar to that of skin. Emollient, anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing, antibacterial, antiseptic and antioxidant. It helps soothe and heal rough, damaged skin, helps prevent and minimize the appearance of wrinkles, helps improve skin tone and nourish the skin. The oil’s fine texture allows more rapid skin penetration, which promotes more prompt healing.

Coconut oil: emollient, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-acne, antioxidant, anti-ageing, anti-inflammatory, sunscreen. High in mid-chain saturated fats, and vitamin E. It helps the skin shed off dead cells, crusts, peelings and any infection that might be emerging. It makes the skin very smooth. In winter months, applying coconut oil keeps the skin slightly warm as the oil layer acts as mild insulation. Thus, it prevents the dry skin problems of winter.

Tamanu oil: anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, anti-septic, anti-acne, antibiotic, anti-tumour and antioxidant. It promotes the formation of new tissue, thereby accelerating wound healing (scarring) and the growth of healthy skin (anti-aging) and increases microcirculation. It provides natural UV protection.

Lavander essential oil: anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, analgesic, detoxifying, sedative.
